I spent most of my life in the northeast US, and yes, if you want, you can get a big steak here. Or so I thought. Then I found myself at one point in Colorado for a visit. We stopped at a restaurant that had two salient characteristics:
- If you came in wearing a tie, they would come with a set of shears and cut it off you, and pin it to the wall. There were hundreds of tie-corpses on display.
- One could order a piece of beef large enough to be shared by mid-sized family. Might weigh enough to crack the plate, never mind hang off the sides.
