Test : Pentax 645 FA 200 mm f/4 + 645 1,4X teleconverter Lens: 645 FA 200 mm f/4 + 1.4X TC Camera: Pentax 645Z Photo Location: Quebec, CANADA ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F9 07-17-2020, 10:25 AM Test of the combination of a 645 FA 200 mm f/4 telephoto lens + 1.4X teleconverter. Norway Maple at a distance of 40 feet. ISO increased to 1600 to obtain a higher shutter speed. Heavily overcast, dark day with frequent episodes of rain. Camera handheld but photographer leaning against a door frame and holding breath, like shooting with a gun. Resulting "lens + TC" equivalent to 280 mm f/5.6, or 225 mm in FF. Nice, clean picture, uniformly sharp with good color and contrast. The procedure would have been easier with a tripod-mounted camera but the Manfrotto was unavailable at the moment. Very usable combo, easily replacing a 300 mm telephoto lens.
