The wild-west of model shoots
Posted By: dkittle, 11-04-2008, 11:16 AM

Ok, I had to know that this photoshoot was going to be a little different when the model walked in with a bazillion $$ Gucci bang and a shoe collection that would compete with the most fanatic LBAer. Little did I guess at the personality that would underlie such great taste in fashion (oh, and not much of the fashion made it to the shoot itself)...

Stella wanted to do something grungy and dirty and far be it from me to steer her otherwise. She was a bundle of ideas, very dynamic and really great to work with. No rules, no pre-conceived notions, anything goes kinda day. Yahoooo! Any comments you have about the photography is most welcome...

Oh, this was my first time using the new-to-me DA* 16-50mm. Unfortunately, I noticed part way through the shoot that I had a habit of resting my fingertips on the focus ring, preventing the SDM drive from locking focus (or shifting focus after it had locked). Bad Don! It's impacted the sharpness of some images but I still thought they were worthy of being shared.

Nice series, she has a bit of a Britt Ekland look about her.

For some reason I very much like the second one biting her collar. Sexy.
I have photographed some very edgy models in my day (take my word for it), but none that ate pieces of dirty broken glass during the shoot. Yikes!

I'd like to see a shot of her chewing it after the bite.

Cool images. I'm also just getting into model shoots. Are you on Model Mayhem?

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Ya, working with Stella was one in a million.

Krypticide, I'm on MM, number 706143. Stella came to me through a friend, but I have found some of my models through MM.
