there are trails and the clouds didn't help. i know stacking gives better results, but i want to see how much one can get from a single frame.

That's an excellent result and saved a lot of stacking with that timing. For a single shot and using NR in camera you can save considerable post processing time. Why f4 though, is coma present at f2.8?, I know my FA35 f2 suffers from it out to f3.2.

thanks. in the center of frame, astrotracer is pretty cool. as for the f4 bit, it was more focus issue. all of my glass is used and most of it needs repair. the best way i can describe it is that the focus ring won't go far enough to get sharpness at infinity.

On the contrary i believe the trails add to image and make it more "romantic". An excellent capture!

What they said ^^^^. I think the clouds add a nice 'atmosphere' to the shot. Their absence would make the shot more sterile IMO.
