Bored so I tried to save a photo (Muddy Swan)
Posted By: palmor, 11-04-2008, 01:34 PM

So I haven't been out taking photos as much as I'd like and I was bored so I decided to try to "save" a photo of this very dirty Swan. Still trying to determine if it looks to PP'd to me.

It was the absolute worst day to take photos (and time of day) but I hadn't been out much and didn't care

I cropped it two different ways. The 1st one shows the reflection of the swan in the water while the second one you can really see the water droplets coming down after it dunked it's head grabbing some grass.

Why not try high key and mute the colours. This will accentuate the whiteness of the swans.

I just did it on my monitor. Look pretty good.

If I knew what that meant I might give it a try

It means take the image and raise the brightness levels until the swan and area is almost white. You can also blend the image by creating another layer. It is just a suggestion and will not fix bad images, just impart another quality to some images. See the attached example:

I like both 1 & 2. Very nice crisp shots. Poor thing was trying to clean up before you took the shot.

Quite right Jimbo, the original is more realistic, but I was only trying to provide an alternative to an image he said he was trying to save.

Looking great. I really like, how it seems to admire itself in the mirror of the lake
