Wonderful photograph of an unusual (for me, at least) and amazing colour!
It is a small butterfly, but very beautiful!
The color combination of the underside of its wings and the blue of its eyes is extraordinary.
Here it is known as "doncella tímida" (shy maiden) or "damer roig" (red checkerboard) in Catalan.
In Wikipedia I find:
"It is found in southern and central Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, central Asia and Siberia. It is absent from northern Europe (England, Ireland, northern France, Germany, Poland and Scandinavia)." I'm afraid in Australia neither ...
Thanks!
