Another interesting site in my local area. The thatched cottage in the background is several hundred years old but still young compared to the castle gate in the foreground. Before the conversion to stone, there would have been earth and wood fortifications dating from around 1120.

Nice shot. It makes a good composition. The more you look the more detail there is. I like the pattern carved into the thatching too.
