The camera has auto-chosen ISO 200 for some reasons - probably for better dynamic range.

I believe you are correct in your review. However, if I may I wish to say that I am glad to see someone not afraid or apprehensive when using a Pentax kit lens. I have read and heard several

professionals sing their praises as these lenses are sharp, render wonderful colors, are very rugged, reliable and lightweight. Very nice work. Very enjoyable to soak it all in for a while. Thanks

Yeah, while I prefer 16-45/4 for my landscape work because of the wider end, this kit lens indeed isn't so bad. Acceptably sharp even for wallpapers on my 27" QHD monitor, aberrations not too much annoying and it reliably focuses even with the picky K-S1 AF. And it isn't too bulky.
