Very nice. My parents had a '56 Ford Fairlane, which looked very similar. They had the 312 Y8 (V8) ...225 HP, 4 barrel carb, factory dual exhausts. They traded in their '54 Austin on it. Think my dad may have noticed the increased power of the Fairlane, compared to his previous Austin.

I do recall it clearly. Nice car, and they eventually traded that car in on a '58 Ford Ranchwagon with the 292 eight cylinder and a 3 on the tree.

I'm glad it brought back memories

I've said it before. I'm not that big of a car guy. But I can't help but smile when seeing such a beautiful piece of machinery. WOW is right.

Dad had a heavily used '56 ford station wagon that he bought in 1960 . My first " driving lesson " was when He said "here boy let's see if you can drive the wagon " which had a trash trailer hitched that we had emptied at the county dump . After three failed tries I gave up on the clutch trans and refused more attempts . Cars from that time were special to us kids . TFS
