I don't think there's anything wrong with "tilted shots" if there is actually a tilt. Actually, I believe even tilted shots for the sake of tilt can be interesting in the right circumstances, if the tilt seems really deliberate (i.e. more than 5-10 degrees). It is those landscapes that are tilted by a few degrees that seem to be the most annoying. It's like our brains has a "snap to grid" feature that it applies to things it sees.
