I don't think there's anything wrong with "tilted shots" if there is actually a tilt. Actually, I believe even tilted shots for the sake of tilt can be interesting in the right circumstances, if the tilt seems really deliberate (i.e. more than 5-10 degrees). It is those landscapes that are tilted by a few degrees that seem to be the most annoying. It's like our brains has a "snap to grid" feature that it applies to things it sees.

There is a huge declivity between the spot where the Delicate Arch sits and the main trail access in the parking lot. The "pitch" or the "lay of the land" is very steep and my horizon was not tilted at all. The image renders the reality of the place. The bystanders appear totally upright.
