Lets's see your best from this year. 2 only!
Posted By: Peter Zack, 11-07-2008, 04:52 PM

There are always great shots posted here every day. I though it would be fun for everyone to post the 2 best shots they have just waiting for display.

Lets all post and make comments on shots you see from others you like.
Also post some camera details to help others.

Edit. As you will see from cruising the shots posted so far, this is a gallery of everyone's best. I'd love to see every active member post a pair of shots from their collections. The forums are getting so big that often great shots are overlooked and this could be a place to see them all. If you have a gallery of work here or on another web host, don't forget the link. Everyone is invited, no judgments just join in and enjoy

Now to start this off...
Taken over North River in Charlottetown Prince Edward Island.
K10D and Meade Schmidt f10 1000mm Tripod.

Fox Puppy *istD FA*300mm ff4.5 and a lot of waiting.

JIMBO - gorgeous maritime shot - I love it!
Thanks Mark [unless there are two Jimbo's on this forum?] Mine was shot in Westport WA which is a fishing village on the West Coast of WA... I have a customer there. Cheers JIMBO

Original Poster
Cindy s. The duck shot is excellent, sharp as a tack and I like seeing the feet through the water shadow. Very nice shot of the garden and path.

CycloneBandDad, Beautiful sunset shot, intense colour and I like the cloud or fog in the trees. Great. Nice old wharf post shots.

trumpyman, Love that shot of the Meerkat. They are such cool animals. Great shot and the background works well here too. Nice sharp shot of the gulls as well. here they have yellow or dark gray beaks. I've never seen a red billed one before. I like that the post isn't covered in bird shit. Much nicer.

markf79 that is a COOL shot. Wow. Stuff like that is rare, you have to be in the right place at the right time. It can be hard to show how wild the ocean can be and this does a great job of that. Awesome is there more?

Morbo. Very nice. I like the lights and their shape plus that they are on. The reflections on the windows that are opened and closed is great. The second shot is of such a well known spot that it's hard to make it interesting. I like that the kids are all wearing similar stuff and most are staring straight ahead almost as if alone and thinking.

Great stuff everyone, Keep it coming!!

[QUOTE=KungPOW;389427]These may not be the best from my last year, but they are importent to me for two reasons.

This one reminds me to not forget the colour in the world. I tend to visualise my shots in B/W, and I think I miss interesting images because of that.

Red Hot

And this one reminds me that it is about the results, not the equipment. This was not shot with a K20D and a 31ltd. It is also off a role of film I developed myself. This is something I just learnt to do this last summer.

EMP - Wave One

These are great shots, which I do not recall seeing before. Really like the play of light on the wave.

I have to consider myself lucky.

Neither of these shots, which I have previously posted is planned, other than to say I went out with camera in hand.

the first, is a very small falcon, and taken the first day I had this specific lens combo. (i had just bought the TC). I always take my camera with me when I walk the dog in the park, just because you'll never know what you find.

this is not cropped or post processed other than resizing to upload.

the second, similarly is something I just happened across while walking through San Antonio.

alright, this was hard. There was a handful of my LEGO pics i really loved, and some wedding shots, and a few others, but I narrowed it down, and I think these are 2 of my best from this year so far (there's still time!)

This first was shot on July 4th, at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY (My hometown). My fiancee and I were walking around the grounds before the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra started their annual 4th of July concert & fireworks.

This second one is from the 3rd grade field trip to Washington DC at the end of the school year last year (in June). These are a groups of kids from my class. We all made tie-dye shirts the same for our class so we could easily see/find each other. I think this picture captures a little of childhood innocence, as well as childhood wonder.

I don't remember seeing these before. Great shots! Perhaps they were posted before I joined.

These are probably not my best, but two that I like.
1) Pie-billed Grebe (K20D + FA*250-600/5.6)

2) Banana Heart (K20D + FA*300/4.5)

Thanks for looking/commenting,
JayT
