Three from the Mildura Ag Show
Posted By: Stomie, 11-07-2008, 04:59 PM

Hi there,
Haven't posted images here for a while. Here are three:

Shot at the Mildura & District Agricultural Show & Carnivale, Victoria Australia.

Mildura is a significant city (large town really) on the mighty Murray River & is the centre of Victoria's far North West Sunraysia district, (citrus, grapes & other agricultural products)

During this shoot I managed to lose the front cap off my FA31

If anyone has a spare for sale, pls PM me or see this post:

Nice series, part comical, part documentary.
When you really look at them, there is so much to see. For example, in the first shot, you don't see the girl on the left and then you see her, followed by her expression and body language. And the main character, look at her fingers, is she playing baseball and sending a signal to the pitcher? Or is she saying "I've had two dogs already"?

I really enjoyed looking at them, thanks for posting.

Nice shots... Mildura is a wonderful place as well.. an Oasis type City.

Sorry to hear about the lens cap... good luck

These shots encourage me to make a decision soon on either the FA31 or the FA43.

Mouse!...you noticed! ;->

The story is...
as I was shooting this fast food outlet I heard over my shoulder from a bunch of girls.... "take a photo of me!...take a photo of me!"...I turned around & said to her jokingly.."so you wanna be famous?...go stand under that dagwood dog sign".... so she did & in doing so gave me the "fingers" as I took the shot :->

My first time in Mildura Neil. I found it a surprisingly livable environment. The river is a great element in the vibe there. Thanks for your empathy on the lens cap. I'm sure I'll survive :->
FA31 or 43?... your wallet will love the 2nd...your soul will like the 1st ;->
Good luck with the decision

Cheers

...& thanks to all others who looked. I hope you were all amused.

Cheers

I was tempted to take my camera gear to the Small Area Farms Expo on the weekend ... although I had to try and keep up with my niece and keep her out of trouble.

Was a great day out though ... So many things I wouldn't mind purchasing ... I am just don't have the funds to permit purchasing. Although learnt a few new things regarding fencing though ... so all was not a loss.

great shots. Country towm shows are a great place for the photographer. Love the colours, the brightness is fitting for the show you were shooting.

Nice pics Stomie. I'm from Mildura myself. Been a long time since I've had a genuine dagwood dog!

It'll be good to take my camera back home (won't be for a couple of years though).

Great shots, its is important that shots like these are taken, they tell a great story of the country show, you have framed them beautifully with the subjects looking straight at the camera.
I must admit I'm a bit shy to ask for someone to do that, I will have to try after seeing your shots.
cheers,
John
