We have been painting our deck this past week. As I went out to get started yesterday, I noticed this guy sitting on the North side out of the sun, so I ran in for my camera even though photographing him required that I look into the sun. I need not have rushed - he was in the same spot at sunset.

Yes, it is fascinating but very hard to photograph well.
Its body doesn’t show contours well and this color doesn’t seem to photograph well.
Add in the fact that I was in the sun looking into the sun without a ‘macro’ lens, ...
