Nice one / two punch

Love how the clouds follow the curve of the beach... As mentioned it is a lonely, moody beach scene. I like it.

Not sure what that tubeish thing is, but I like the Macro-abstracto effect.

The second shot of a rock that somehow has a nice smooth hole running through it diagonally

Yep, cool capture mate. A little brighter & more contrasty and it's a winner!
Gary, be imaginative, and you'll know what WTF stands for - or that may just be an Aussie thing?!?

No- 1 is excellent as already stated by everyone, but the second shows creativity. Who would have known it was a hole in a rock when the shot is so well done and the labels removed? Excellent images.

For people who are interested in a book on the art of photography and how to abstract but still using the visual design, I recommend Freeman Patterson's "Photography and the Art of Seeing." He also has many other books.

As for the labels removed it manily done with a program that i picked up Instant Jpeg from raw(IJFR)as the shots havent been retouched and the exif if very limited with converted to jpeg.Very good when I shot 200 DNG raws and want to upload (usually size is under 2mb)
