A few Heron pics
Posted By: borno, 11-08-2008, 09:41 AM

Well it's raining here so I though I'd post some pics and do some printing
After work monday it was cloudy and not much light left, but I thought it made for some interesting fall reflections:

That no-3 is just superb. Like gray on off gray. Sharp Heron, and the background augments the Heron and is excellent.

Very nice photos Tom, thanks for posting them. I saw a lot of herons this fall but could not get anywhere close enough to take a decent shot.

Thanks Heinrich,
I got a kick out of that Nova Scotia squirrel you posted, but my wife thinks he's crazy looking I have a copy saved because he makes me smile

Great series Tom. There have been a lot of Heron shots posted through the Summer, they are such photogenic birds.

Thanks Gary,
I've been concentrating on Herons and Egrets lately because this guy is driving me nuts (I'm going to get him one of these days)

Great Shots!
we have a bunch of them here at the coast,I guess I'm just to lazy to go sit and wait for them. It's time to start fishing since it's cooled off here now. Maybe I can get a few shots half as good as those.

Some very nice shots. I spent a lot of time shooting heron pics last summer and found that over time they do seem to get used to seeing you. I june they would take off many times before I saw them and would leave the water for the woods if I even paddled in their direction from across the lake. By sept. I was getting quite close and could photograph them in plain view but they would fly off if another kayak approached. They seemed to recognize me or at least my boat. I hope they remember next year but then figuring out ways to get in close is part of the fun of photographing these wonderful birds.
