Very good news: a large print order (literally!!!) - one stunned me!!??
Posted By: Marc Langille, 11-08-2008, 10:25 AM

Images in the order, all 8x10's unless otherwise specified:

Two prints of this image:

11x19:

The next image is the amazing part of the order: I have a potential print request for the image below. The potential buyer asked how big can I print my images. I explained the pixel resolution, and if cropped, I can uprez the image if needed. I wasn't worried, since most never want beyond a 20x30.

He asked if I can print it at 36" x 48" (3 feet by 4 feet)!!!
Luckily it's in RAW and I already have a 400 DPI TIFF ready...

If this all goes through (just the last print is pending), I've brought in over quite a bit of money in orders yesterday. Wow... I need to put together a proper business plan soon...

Regards,
Marc

Can't wait for the Calander, but you need to hurry, not much time before the first of the year.

Definately add my congratulations... I always liked the windmill sunset, but the egret flipping the fish to line it up (3rd shot) is my favorite.
Thank you Mike! I am excited to see the windwill sunrise (surprise!) that large.

Marc

Oh man would I love to see the last image printed 3x4 feet! I bet it is awesome. All of the images you show will be wonderful hanging on a wall. I can see a lot of print orders in your future Marc. :-) Is there a way for you to take a picture of the 3x4 print? Dang that is exciting!

Hi Kevin, it's quite a nice surprise for me. I had no idea how serious he was on this order! I've got the 85MB TIFF file ready (400 DPI).

Thank you LaRee! I hope you are accurate in your predictions! It's going to be printed in the new year. I received confirmation from the future owner that he will be buying a 36 x 48 print...

I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to be seen if I'm holding the print.... .... I will get a photo taken, rest assured!

Cheers,
Marc

Marc,
They are beautiful mate, stunning, award winners - CONGRATS Buddy.
If I may ask, and I hope it has not been stated, but were the zebras taken with the K20D?

Thanks
Peter

Thank you Peter and you are very kind! I'm going to have to keep track of all these Peter guys... You are one of several I've communicated with, but Salty and Pete Z. are the incumbents...

The zebras were shot with the K20D + FA* 300/2.8. I'll post a crop of one in a future post...

Cheers,
Marc
