A couple bird shots

Heres a couple from today with my Sigma 100-300 f/4





Been in kind of a slump the last couple weeks but it was good gettin out today.

Great shots on the cormorant. I especially like the composition of the 1st one. Any idea what those hanging gourds are supposed to be?

Nice shots Oren, they look like Double-Crested Cormorants I think. We have them on the east coast too, the young ones are a lighter color. Those bad boys can really swim too!

The hanging gourds are bird nests. I see them scattered around the area, kind of a cool idea.
I see these birds around a fair amount but this is the first time I had a chance to photograph. I see them standing with their wings spread drying out after a dive quite often. I hope to capture that pose soon.
