Hi Mike,

It seems to me a Grey Heron, it happened to me a few times under fire, but unfortunately without reflex, and like all birds impossible to get very close.
Nice performance, it seems to me that the other one at 800 iso has more noise than this one at 3200 looking at the background, don't you think?

Continue to make other very good shots, Mario

This one gave me a few lousy profiles, I kept moving behind a convenient tree and grabbed 6 quick shots processed the best, I tend to over sharpen , but thatís my taste(or old eyes!)

I just meant that at 800 iso I seem to notice more noise than this one at 3200 I watched them on Flickr, for the rest they are more than fine,

This is one amazing wildlife image. Really enjoy the sharpness, color rendition, composition and the Bokeh is terrific. I believe this creature is a Blue Heron, is that correct? Whatever it is, many thanks for sharing such wonderful work.

Congrats on your new neighbor! I would certainly prefer him to my human neighbors.

Great shot of a Tricolored Heron. Note the lavender feathers at the base of the neck, something not found in Great Blue Heron. Great Blues also have white on the head as adults.
