Large Ant on my Kangaroo Paw plant

There are bigger ants, so I suppose really I should classify this one as "medium" rather than large, but.......well, how long IS a piece of string, anyway??

Very nice macro shot. I can't see his nippers though. If it is a bull ant they will be sizable.
