AOCO 1919_101 Years
Posted By: Septrain, 11-01-2020, 07:08 PM

November 2020 is Pentax 101 years.

To commemorate the event, a small group of die-hard Pentaxians in Singapore came with the idea of AOCO 1919 and Pentax 101 Polo Ts & caps for personal wear.

We had a photo outing on Nov 1, 2020 & pleased to share the photos.

Oh, another pretty girl!

The first shot is stunning. I've rarely seen subject isolation done that well, the pretty lady really stands out from the blurry background!

But when it comes to the pose, it's the last one I like the most.

Is there a formal Pentax club in Singapore?
Or sort of informal few people only.

no such formal "club" that i am aware of, if there ever was one.

More of a group of pentax users.

granted, some, by now, have become "former users", after having become so frustrated with the AF, they have since moved to Sony or Nikon or Canon some years ago.
Some moved because they got tired of waiting for Pentax's fullframe arrival.

I am probably the "newest member" of this informal group of former and current Pentax users in Singapore.
(But, chotto matte. "Newest" only in the sense that i was introduced to the group about 2-3 years back, not that i am the "youngest in age").

I came to Pentax purely by accident, not planned, after about 13-14 years of self-imposed exile from photography (which is another story altogether).

The number of active Pentax users in Singapore is very very small (by "active", i mean, something like picking up gear for a shoot at least perhaps once a month?).

Actually, the Singapore and Malaysia side of Pentax users should start to interact, and perhaps look towards some planned engagements. Start small.

Singapore and Malaysia, a whole lot of shared history, right next to each other.

Perhaps we can start somewhere, informally, working towards something small and easy.

Yes, but I notice a lot of Pentax users do stick on to film, in fact I personally know a repair man who just specialized in fixing Pentax film cameras, marketing wise Pentax is lackluster in terms of digital in the region (Pentax facebook group is mostly digital though), I myself is a former m43 user.

I agree we should interact, hopefully the pandemic as well as the border restriction will go soon next year.

The Pentaxians had a wonderful shoot last Sunday of a lovely model wearing maroon AOCO 1919.

K1+ D FA* 70-200mm.
Maybe a bit of empty space at the top, but that is a wonderful picture.
