Storm over St Monans zigzagging pier
Lens: Hasselblad XCD 30mm Camera: Hasselblad X1D II ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 2s Aperture: F16
Posted By: The Madshutter, 11-04-2020, 09:46 AM

Not being an engineer, I am not sure how effective the bizarre shape of St Monans' pier is to break waves, but I assume it works. What I am sure of, on the other hand, is that photographically speaking the pier is a truly inspiring work of concrete! 2 seconds, Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad 30mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Wonderful image. The pier itself makes a great shape and the wet stones add a texture and shine to the overall image. Catching the light like that makes you look at the bend in the pier but then the rest of the pier makes your eye follow it to the end. To finish it off the colour of the water adds a great background to the stone. Well done indeed.

Another great shot, Vieri. I couldn’t fault your composition, settings or processing. Very nicely done.

Love the varying textures here and the movement created by the light.

Well done!

Beautifully done, Vieri! Also I like the "ray of hope" cutting through the dark skies - something we all need right now!
