My collection of Finches's family

Good days guys! Would like to share some of my Finches's family collection over the year.

1) Red Avadavat (male) - 2015

11) Pin-tailed Whydah (male) - 2018


12) Pin-tailed Whydah (female) - 2018


13) Hawfinch - 2019

Beautiful collection of images. Finches are a favourite of mine. A couple of our Australian species live around our place.

My favourite is the one numbered 14. The green backgrounds really suits the blue feathers, a real treat! The thorny branch also adds to the image.

Many thanks on the comments guys! Really appreciate, I like the Pin-tailed Whydah personally, cuase of the mating dance during the mating season.

A superb action shot of the mating dance! The pin-tailed whydah also occurs in South Africa. We have a pair regularly visiting our bird feeder but the male is quite cheeky, often chasing away some small birds like munias and canaries.
