Testing linking a photo from Flickr
Posted By: stevejo, 11-22-2020, 02:43 AM

Seems that I have been barking up the wrong tree.

IMGP0202 by Steve Joyce

My links to Flickr now work thanks to the suggestions to use the BBCode link from Flickr rather than the IMG link from the forum.

I do this. BBCode. Further the size of the photo, I take the original, and copy the link, that's it.

If you select only the image. then the flicker link will not work [imч]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49995780076_70f5995847_o.jpg[/imч]. I know many people do it differently, but I did it this way.

As Ivan mentioned, click the 'BB Code' one and paste that link directly, rather than the URL. Works fine for me.
Great shots above, by the way (including yours Stevejo - gorgeous colours).

Thanks for those suggestions. Yeh! it worked. I will leave the post in case it helps others (maybe change the picture) as that one has already been posted.

Depending on the size of your Flickr image, I usually post full size images to Flickr then when I post to the forums I use the 1024X681 size option and that will usually give you the best sizing for posting to the forums in landscape orientation. Any larger and the image usually will show as a link instead of a linkable image. You can easily relocate the comment that accompanies the image from Flickr to be located under the image you are posting, after pasting the link in the image box with the link still showing just set your cursor to just in front of the comment's first letter and hit enter to move the comment to below the image when it displays.

Not true. If your image tag has a good URL, it will display here. Also, Flickr's BB code has a link back to the source as required by Flickr's terms of service if I recall correctly.

I distorted it on purpose to show what the link looks like. [/ imч] }}}} [/ img].

Now you cannot go to the original photo. You will not be able to see it in full size. Only if you download.

I myself copy the entire link without cutting anything. But it doesn't matter, the main thing is that the person succeeded.
