Moonscape attempt
Posted By: heatherslightbox, 11-11-2008, 06:45 PM

Husband and I spent our Veteran's Day holiday at Cedar Key. Before we left to go home earlier this evening, I insisted that I wanted to set up the tripod and attempt to get a decent moonscape shot over the water. My K20 + DA16-45, + a little PP in Lightroom produced this...

Considering that I haven't had much experience with night shooting, I'm pretty pleased with the results.

C&C welcome.

There's just something about this shot. The color? I don't know but I like it.

Very nice! The yellow combined with moon and water is striking.

That's a nice shot Heather .. but there are a couple of dark vertical bands in the sky that are a little off-putting for me though ... probably due to the lighting I guess.

Nice shot ! Love the dreamy mood ! You got the K20D now ? Apparently I have not been in the forums enough to notice all the changes on regular posters !

Yes--I have a K20D, now. The 16-45 is also another recent acquistion. As I get them processed, I'll be posting more pics from this trip with it.

Thanks for all the positive input!

Hi Heather

Congrats on the new camera and lens...

I really like the slow shutter effect has on the water... a sense of gentle movement. Nice work...

I have no experience at all in the night long exposure stuff. Someday.....
