Old Building Exploring, Wall full of Ceramic Doll Molds
Lens: HD PENTAX-DA* 11-18mm F2.8 ED DC AW @ 11mm Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Pinola, MS ISO: 640 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F4.5

At first I really didn't know what I was photographing but not until I got back home and found Jones Mold Co, engraved in some of the white blocks did I discover what they were. This was about 1/3 of the total molds in the old building.

Interesting that such mold is still being made in industrial scale in US.
I dabbled with doll making years ago, I use sawdust and stoneclay without mold.

Interesting subject, Larry, and a nice one for B&W.

Out of curiosity, how does the image look with distortion corrections? Please don't take this comment as a criticism of the image...just curiosity about the 11-18. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment, the building that housed the molds was adjacent to a small hotel converted to a gift shop. Presumably the gift shop owner sold the ceramic dolls she was making with the molds. Thanks for viewing!!

Many thanks, I appreciate your comment! I use DXO PhotoLab 4 and the default correction is what you see in the image. I exported this one with DXO Viewpoint correction in addition to the corrections in the B/W image. As you can see my lousy framing was corrected but little else needed correcting.

Interesting...thanks.

I think I actually like the first one best! I don't know if it's the subtle leftover distortion or the light coming in the through the door, but the first one seems to have a better "abandoned" vibe to it. I appreciate you humoring my curiosity.

Hey, Jer, many thanks, My Friend!! Yep definitely different, just goes to show what discoveries are out there. That old building also contained a huge double door safe that was so big I really don't see how it could have gotten there unless the building was built around the safe. I didn't get the greatest photos of it but I plan to process the image in the next day or so. Thanks for viewing!!
