Yes she does, but they were very concerned when it came time to lift her out, if they would still be strong enough after all this time (she weighs ten imperial tons).

In the 60's we could take a Catalina to Catalina island and people thought it was very routine . Now days some are whining about having "had" to fly in one of those .

Was the undercarriage not working? The Catalina is an amphibian. It's a cool shot! I'm just curious why they couldn't simply drive into the water or out of it.

It remained on the Loch after landing and then as a result of an engine failure, was unable to take off again.

Hence “driving” in/out wasn’t really an option, even if a suitable location to do so could have been found.
