Nice colors.

I'm curious why such a fast aperture was used.

handheld, plus was playing with branch in foreground... your question is absolutely legit though

Nice shot. But yes, even handheld, 1/2500 is rather fast! I doubt that with such high speed you would have suffered from motion blur even if you tried hard enough to!
