Thanks! Normally I keep my reflections dimmer, but my friend suggested I brighten it up in the B+W. I used the reflection that came from one of my tracked shots so the stars were sharper and not trailed as the foreground shots were.

Magical and mysterious. So close yet so far. What other civilisations are out there.
My mind is working overtime with this one:-)
That was the aim!

Cool story about the skull. My friend showed me this spot once but couldn't make it out with me this particular time. I got there and was walking around looking for a composition and found the skull. I had a different friend with me (as it is wise not to be alone in the dark on a cliff) so I sacrificed he best reflection spot for her and moved the skull to this spot. I found out later that the photog who showed me the location had found the skull a little further back weeks before and moved it to the cliff edge but never ended up using it in his shot.

This was a bit of luck. Being a focus merged panorama, it's hard for me to know exactly how a composition will turn out until i get it into the computer. Glad it worked how I thought it would: Horns lead to reflection, reflection leads to horizon, milky way leads you out.
Originally posted by mixalis_kalymnos1611 That’s a great shot. It has a little bit of past (bone) , a little bit of future (stars) and the reflection could be a reference to the present (or a chase of truth). For me it’s a well made philosophical reference.
Timeless Insignificance is what I entitled the colour version of this shot that I tried submitting to the contest my friend judges. I say tried because something happened with the contest organizers and while they were accepting entry payments, I couldn't upload my images. I contacted my friend (which I normally wouldn't do when entering the contest) and she said the organizers usually contacted all the judges by this point with deadlines and such but she hadn't heard anything. Neither of us could get through to them so paypal refunded my entry fees and I sent her the images I was going to enter, just for fun. (The contest organizers don't include the photogs name, so she wouldn't know what images were mine while judging).
