This could be many of those thing you mention .. but I believe it's rocks at the bottom of a tidal pool

I always liked abstraction. My guess is it is a shot vertical towards the ground. Idk what these rocks are...

It is a vertical shot towards the ground, on the shore, through a foot of ocean water.
