The approaching conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter now fit within a single exposure. I managed this last night (12/17/20) from my backyard. K3ii, DFA 150-450mm @ 450mm, 1/200sec, f8, iso800, RAW, cropped, LR.

So wish we didn't have clouds... Nice one! Such a rare occurrence for them to be so close, so it is awesome to see people capturing it.

Wow - I didn't know you could get such rings out of just 450mm, even APS-C!

Couldn't be done with a full frame.

I'm impressed. I tried to photo Saturn and Jupiter last night, and did not get any clear image of either planet using a Sigma 170-500 DG and Kenco 1.5 tele-converter with my K5IIs. Perhaps I should leave the tele-converter off.

Thanks for sharing. My next attempt may be through my telescope.

Impressive shot of Saturn! I did not know a "regular" lens like the 150-450 could be enough for such a shot!

The positioning of the planets on the corners is a nice touch, I only with Jupiter's moon were a little more visible!

Great shot. And thanks for the exposure info. I had a look last night and thought I would take my chance over the next couple of nights (if there is no cloud). I will be using a Rubinar 500/f5.6 with my K-3. Of course, mine will be "upside down" compared to your shot!

Impressive, are those the rings of Jupiter by the way?

If only. For now I am limited. Can’t wait to see some shots of the event.

Wonderful shot, I was hoping to get something tonight but clouds rolled in. I was thinking about my M400mm 5.6 plus the HD1.4 converter to get 560mm. Not sure if I'd be better off with the DA*300 plus the TC and crop for the extra magnification. Again, a wonderful picture. Hopefully tomorrow for me.
