A Rare Machine in Prague (or anywhere, really)
Lens: smc PENTAX-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL[IF] DC WR Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Prague, Czech Republic ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F3.5

This is a Weismann GT, which is a fairly rare German sports coupe. This one was parked in a street in Prague when I visited there 8 years ago. I'm uncertain which variant this one was, but the three-lamp headlight configuration suggests it's probably a MF4 or MF5. All were powered by BMW engines, originally the 3-litre six-cylinder, but later ones with a V8 and V10.

That looks excellent, A motor I was unfamiliar with, truthfully.
I'd personally go for different wheels, but to each their own!

It looks like a cross between a Jaguar and the Bat Mobile!

A bit to ostentatious for me but I can still admire it

Yes, the similarity to the XK150 was fairly striking. I’m not sure I’d call it ostentatious, but nevertheless the finish was pretty impressive.

It was a new one on me at the time, too. From the specifications, its performance would likely be a good match for its looks.

I dimly (very dimly) remember reading an article on the Weisman many years ago. I doubt more than a few hundred were built; you were lucky to come upon one!

They ceased production in 2014. A couple of UK investors has revived the brand and was hoping to relaunch it this year with a BMW M-series V8, but, you know – 2020.

That's so cool. It reminds me of a futuristic gangster car.

What a beautiful car. Not familiar with it. Looks like it has hints of Jaguar (font) and AC (rear fender treatment). Thx for sharing.
