close order flying
Lens: DFA 150-450 Camera: K3ii Photo Location: So. Cal. ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F7.1

They circled the lake to pick a landing spot . White pelicans visit here in solo , twos and threes up to 100 plus .

You've made it look like they are right on top of each other, although I suspect there was a bit more separation. Tough shot - well done.

Did they learn the close order flying by the Air Force - or is it the other way 'round ?

Wonderful catch. I've seen 'em do that many times over Galveston Bay, but I was never able to catch 'em photographically when in formation. You 'da man!!

The lens compressed the distance but they spaced out further in later frames . Your kind words are appreciated .

Thanks ,they had just formed a line after climbing a bit .
