So what do you guys think?

Both pictures taken on generic drug store ISO 400 print film, scanned to jpg by photolab at time of developing. Lens used: Pentax F100mm f2.8 macro -- this is one jaw-dropping sharp lens, even at F2.8. The colour rendering is also fantastic.

We'll see if these get rejected or not...

I really like the first as it shows the subject in a portraits style and should do well

cheers

first one is a bit plain and unimaginitive. it could also do with a little bit of a tone boost.

the second is excellent and i love the lines and bokeh but it is perhaps not enough of a "pop" photo to go through. If i see it ill vote it up

They're both good shots, but based on what you see in the PPG, I don't think they'll get through.

They are fantastic captures. I would love to see these two included in the gallery.

Thanks to everyone for their comments so far. Much appreciated!

The input so far reflects the response I've gotten from others. People either love them or it doesn't do much for them.

All comments welcome (good or bad)! Thank you again.

I like #1 and I think that has the best change - #2 just missing the tip of the wing and a little closer would be better I think. On there own there are very good shots regardless of how the fickle PPG votes.
