Airshow photos finally
Posted By: LaRee, 11-14-2008, 10:18 PM

I've had to wait over a month and a half to share these images. When I enter a competition that precludes posting the images on the web before the challenge ends, the weeks seem a long time passing. Most times I just end up not sharing the series at all. But I LOVE air shows and I thought maybe someone here might be interested in viewing these and maybe even taking a look at the gallery I put up? I shot a lot of images and maybe uploaded too many...but what can I say? I LOVE air shows.

Some of my favorites:

There were even a couple fellow Pentaxians there, kunik (of this site) and his wife. Chris's wife is absolutely stunningly beautiful, and she is a doctor no less! They make an adorable couple.

all shot with the k10d and Bigma

Oh Miss LaRee, could that be you taking off into the stratosphere? No... you sure? Excellent images.

That is one of my favorite too. It is really a great bunch of folks and I enjoy their company immensely.

even more great photos LaRee
Thank you kindly Mike. Sure is a lot easier shooting with the k10d than tracking them with the fz20 or fz30 that is for sure! Plus I had the sweetest location to shoot from this year.

Wow! These are really good! My draw dropped at the first shot. The classic Blue Angel shot at the end is a great shot too, but that first one.....oh my!
That was a shot that was only possible because I was in the Flight Deck Chalet. Quite a heart stopping show to watch these guys.

I am so in awe when I watch these guys fly. I'm like a little kid. It makes my heart race just watching them. So exciting!

It was the dpreview challenge on pbase. I entered two shots and one came in second (the first image I posted in this thread). The winner topped me in points by almost double. It was mentioned that I didn't quite get the theme of the challenge which was "machine". I am happy with my placing and even happier with that image. Here is the link to the competition results:

Thank you Heinrich. Yep, I was hand holding and shooting with the Bigma from 8 am until 4 pm at the show. The group had a table piled high with gear, so I was able to unclip it from my harness a few times for a small break. But it was nonstop action all day so I was a bit worn out by the end of the show.
Oh and I see I forgot to post the link to the gallery I put up from the day. Here it is:
LaRee | Miramar Airshow 2008
There are 211 photos there. I can't help myself since I love air shows. Since there are so many images, the slide slide show might be a better view? Here is the link for the slide show:

Thank you for looking and commenting Heinrich.

Wow,
those were great.

I especially liked the first one and the one with 3 generation airplanes in a frame.

As an airplane plastic model hobbyist I am delighted
Please keep them coming, and thank you very much.
