I cannot disagree with everyone else's thinking and comments. Brilliantly captured "Forest Prime Evil" Scene. Many thnx for posting.

Who knows... But our forests of Scots Pines are definitely not comparable to the ones I saw in your Hielands o' Scootlund! All planted around 1900 or later...

Thank you for sharing this great photo. The composition is well balanced and the color is “muted” in a way that it creates a mystery element.

That is a beautiful shot Rense!
I like the composition as well as the subtle processing.
In a "previous life" I used to go to Apeldoorn a few times per year ... but to the not so photogenic industrial area
