Posted By: cupic, 11-15-2008, 05:01 AM

Not quite dark enough but this is my first go at it

Mind you it was part of 1000 strike during a downpour that went up the coast past Sydney

No dust that rain getting blown in on the lenses .
I had the K10D mounted on the tripod in front and stood back with remote while in a electrical storm(Safety first)

I haven't tried shooting lightning yet ... although last storm at my place was that bad it was advisable to be indoors.

Wow!! Did you just happen to catch the lightning on these shots at normal shutter speeds, or did you somehow take a long exposure with a stack of ND filters or similar?

I figured that was rain drops on the lens when I first saw it. Cool shots and congrats on getting the strike!

Sorry, but raindrops on the front element of the lens would also be in the same place in relation to the image frame. It is possible the tiny black dots are something other than drops, but no big deal either way...
