Robbie at rest
Lens: Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 Camera: KP Photo Location: dining room ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/4s Aperture: F5.6

Well, my New Year's photo resolution was to try some still life shots. So here goes....

How well does multi-auto white balance work? Lighting was from a window on an overcast day. I took a sample of a pixel on Robbie's coat; R=236, G=236, B=236. I'd say that's reasonably well balanced!

Nice photograph and I do like those props. Robbie Burns day, coming up soon at January 25th.

When I was a kid we would go to local Robbie Burns' day celebration with my auld Grandfather, who was born in Scotland. The Haggis would be addressed, an Alex Guinness movie might be shown, possibly a Kenneth MacKellar recording would be played. Takes me back...it does.

Excellent still life, yep looks like multi AWB worked pretty well!! i don't even worry about WB with my K-3 set to Multi AWB but WB used to consternate my with my K-50 under certain situations.

Very good

The burning question though is, can you recite Tam o' Shanter?

I wasn't aware of that. I must admit to only having a casual interest in Robert Burns. My parents acquired the statue and book. Now that I've gotten it out of the bookcase though, I do plan on reading some of it.

Yes, it begins on page 350 of this 1903 edition. And keeps going, and going, and going.....
