Some Night Lit Pics
Posted By: vdubbin099, 11-15-2008, 11:21 PM

Well I went down by a local lake tonight and took some pics. Here are three different pics. Two of them look like the same pic but one was shot with just moon lite in Tungsten WB and the other is shot in Flash WB with a flash fired off camera at the bench. Finall the last one is shot in Tungsten WB with only moon lite and then a PP in photoshop to kinda get a look that I like. What version do you guys like of the first two pics?

Tungsten WB- moon lit

Flash WB- flash fired off camera at bench

Tungsten WB- flash fired off camera at tree

I really like the first shot ... and the colours of the sky ... Tungsten WB has it uses sometimes.

I like the color and composition on #1, although I find the reflection on the concrete base too distracting.

I find the light on the back of the chair (facing the cam) too unnatural on #2. I prefer the drama from #1.

The lighting on #3 is not bad. The composition and crop factor feels rather confined.

Thanks, I never would have thought tungsten would make the night sky so vivid

I normally always set the WB manually when I do night pics but I thought I would do a little experiment last night, I'm glas you like the results

Hard to say, you managed to impart mood into all the versions. Well done.

Thank you, I am still torn to what version I like best as well. I think even though two of the pictures are from exactly the same spot they both bring a different kind of mood.

Well I guess I will have to go take some more night pics to settle the disput with myself as to what version is better. haha
