It was a cold day today, but this coyote found a place for some warmth

Nice shot! I didn't realise how similar in appearance the Coyote was to a Fox.

The long legs really give it away.

Not so obvious when they're lying down! I heard Coyotes howling at Yosemite but I've never actually seen one.

This one is in Toronto at a lake front park. It has been here for a few days now, yesterday, on the beach. Note it was -10C when I took this (14F for the metric impaired)

I had no idea that they were in Toronto either! I'm not sure if I've experienced a still air temperature below -5C (and I can't understand why anyone would choose to use Fahrenheit). Crossing the border from Buffalo on the drive to Quebec was a relief - suddenly all the measurements made sense!

Thanks! I've been to Toronto, but it was late Autumn.

Excellent capture Lowell! Coyotes are tough animals and 14F is nothing for them. I imagine the coyotes in Yellowstone would give anything for a nice warm day like that!

They are everywhere in the city. I'm just outside the city boundaries and we've been dealing with higher coyote activity for a couple of years. They are fairly skittish of people, although I did have one walk past me about 10 ft away. But they can be a real threat to people's pets. Nice shot.

Wow, great shot! You've caught it looking so relaxed, nice surroundings too.
