Finally some colder temps here in southern Ontario. Currently -9C outside and a few crystals drifting down. The forecast is calling for -11C and up to 20cms of snow overnight so I'll should have plenty of potential subjects.

These were shot with either my 4X Amscope, or 10X Nikon objective mounted on my Auto Bellows (150mm extension), on my K3.

Amazing macros! I don't think it ever gets cold enough in Australia to be able to observe crystals like this. We get snow in winter in the mountains, but you probably need temperatures well below zero for small crystals.

Here's one more from last night. Some really nice detail in this crystal, and for once I managed to get the focus and lighting just right. This little guy was approx 1mm across, but using my 10X Nikon objective it filled half the frame.



Their beauty never gets old for me.
