Sparrows Feuding
Lens: Pentax DA 55-300 PLM + 1.4X TC Camera: Pentax KP ISO: 2200 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F9.5

The Sparrows were unusually feisty at our bird feeder today.
My wife suggested that they knew we are under a snowstorm warning, and I may have troubles filling it tomorrow.

I have to admit that I did adjust the contrast and brightness a tad, but it was lots of fun watching them work it out.

Yes, some of them are just getting in the ways of others, but a lot of anger was being expressed - a reminded of the meaning of 'pecking order'.

Love the contrast. The color palette matches the birds. So nice.

Many female birds are a brown color, even if the male is colorful {think of Cardinals};
I have always thought that was so they could sit on nests and blend in to their surroundings.
At this time of year, the surroundings around here completely match them - and I have come to really treasure the combination of browns that clothe Sparrows.
