K-3 and DA 55-300 PLM

A pine Martin raiding the bird seed at the Cameron Rd parking lot.

A raven came to see me. I called him, he came in for a fly over then came down for a look. Maybe he's my guy from at least 3 other photoshoots.. It's so hard to tell with Ravens.

If you feed chickadees food from the top of your hat....

They may take some string from your hat.

There's little bit of snow on the picnic tables.

That PLM certainly is a winner, the detail in that last chickadee shot is simply remarkable!

My DA*60-250 is getting seriously neglected. I honestly see no advantage in using it, and the size and weight makes it no contest.

I think I'm more of a volume shooter who selects images in part based on sharpness, but why quibble?

Nice series, Norm - always a pleasure. Also - throughout my life I've continued to think of a bird when I encounter the term, "pine martin". Perhaps after seeing the little furry guy (or gal) in the first shot, my inner mind will accept that pine martins can't fly (at least on their own steam).

They are amazingly agile moving from tree to tree along the branches in the canopy. Maybe they can' fly, but they are great arial performers. I've seen them move though a hundred meters of forest without ever touching the ground. And I can never remember whether Martin, or Marten is the bird, which might possibly led to your confusion. Pretty sure the martin is the bird and marten is the weasel.
