The new Art Gallery of Ontario
Posted By: vizjerei, 11-16-2008, 10:15 PM

It was the grand opening of Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) last weekend. They don't really allow taking photos, but I can't resist... Didn't take picture of the whole view that day, since the weather wasn't very nice at all (heavily rain), so I guess I will go back again with a nice sky

Taken with Fuji FinePix F40fd, inside of the AGO

Back stairs (build hanging outside of the building, very interesting)

The following one taken with K10D, Outside of AGO

Looks like the AGO and the ROM are the places to visit on my next TO trip.
I like the capture on the first one Victor.

So, if they don't "really" allow p'raphy how DID you capture these?

The guards were not that fast at first, but after several of the people with P&S flashing their ways, guards are stationed in every sections :P

haha I have brought my small P&S as well, while my whole Pentax collection was held in the coat check section. Then I ask my friends as shells to brick the guard's line of sight. I just can't resist not to take pic of the new design building ( I don't take picture of Art pieces tho, because that's just wrong )

Yes, if anyone is planning to pay Toronto a visit, ROM and AGO should be in the list

Nice pics Victor... it's fun going under cover.

I went there too but was not willing to join the huge lineup at around 11.30am.
I got some funky shot's from the outside though ;-P

I remember the old AGO with fondness. The new one looks like it rocks.

And there is still good Vietnamese across the road I hope?

I think they got replaced by personal art studio and stuff, or moved to the China Town area which is just one or two blocks west.

Darn. They were so convenient there as a stopping off place between the ROM and the AGO. Nothing better than a big steaming bowl of hot noodles to break a bit of culture-feasting.

Was there three years ago when construction was starting. Will try to go back next year.
