I had been watching, and shooting, this bird from across a very (as in VERY) small pond (very large puddle???). I could tell that he was aware of me. Next thing I knew, he flew across the pond and perched on a bush barely a metre, or metre and a half, from me!! Hence enabling a real close-up (although this is a crop of the original, to accentuate the closeness).

Hi,

I feed a family of kookaburras and a family of butcher birds. There is a miner also turns up to be fed. All on cheap Woolworths mince, ie., a kilogram per week!

Regards,
Gordon.

Thanks guys.

@gordon_134 - that sounds cool, but I hope there is not too much preservative in that mince - might not be good for long-term health of the birds. But it must be great having them around and accustomed to your presence. I have to be very lucky not to scare the birds visiting my garden and bird bath when I am trying to get a photograph.
