Thanks! The male has a flap of skin under the bill which is used when he does his display. Sadly, Ripper has no mate. I have seen a female Musk duck further out west. They are probably the most aquatic ducks I know. I've never seen Ripper out of the water, and he kinds his food by swimming underwater. Most ducks get out of the water to rest.
