Fun to take pics with a kit lens again (Beware lots of pics)
Posted By: dsport, 11-17-2008, 11:42 AM

I borrowed the kit lens from my friend whom was switching to Pentax.
I really enjoyed to take pics with the kit again and it was really fun on that day. (I sold my kit long time ago).
I think I would get back a second hand kit lens in the future as it was light and cheap in price but not cheap in IQ.
Thanks for watching.

Hot shots!

Good to see the kit worked! Just got a second hand one myself.

I had to stop looking at the shots because you put the same distracting banner on all of them. Why I wonder?

But yes, the kit lens is quite good. I found the upgrade to the DA16-45 worth it though. Total difference in off-centre sharpness.

I know, I also found the advertising annoying to the point I could consider flagging this post as spam. It almost looks like Pentax is trying to do a little free advertising.

They look like nice photos, but I didn't look at all of 'em either. Even the PPG doesn't spam us with lens adds (good idea though.. if I worked for Pentax... ).

Sorry, for the distracting banner, but acually it is just a frame for each individual photo.
When I posted these photos, the frames linked together, an effect which I didn't know before.
I used the DA18-55mm frame for each photo just because I want to record down the lens being used.

PS: Modified by adding space between the images and try to see whether it is better.
Thank you.

Very nice series of shots and it is indeed a good lens. I would have really enjoyed the fishing boat shots other than the banners

Nice series. Never used the kit lens myself, but your images prove that for a kit lens, the Pentax is one of the best.

Just goes to show it is the capenter as much as the tool they use. Nice series some really fine shots in there - also agree on the banner being a distraction.
