Here are a few shots from the Sheryl Crow concert last night at the Houston Rodeo. These were all taken with the K100D and the SMC 300mm f/4.0 at ISO800, wide open.

Good show, though the acoustics are terrible in the stadium. She ended her set with "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin.

Great shots! I used to go to the Houston rodeo every year when I lived there. Is it still in the Dome?

Thanks Roy. No, the concert and rodeo are at the same location, and they let you bring just about any kind of still camera in. I figured I was pushing it with the Bigma, but no one said a word.

Thanks Mike. They moved it to Reliant Stadium after it was built. The last show in the Dome was 2002(?), I think.

She was fine, but Reliant Stadium is absolutely awful for sound, plus the stage is in the middle of the dirt field and the closest seats are 40+ yards away, so you don't get much interaction. For the "total package" of rodeo and world class music, it's not bad, but I don't go just for the music. Just about any other venue would be better for a concert.

On the plus side, no concert venue would probably allow me to bring my camera and gear in, so then I wouldn't have gotten these shots.
