These little guys along with Tufted Titmice and a few other smaller bird species kept my feeders emptying at a fast rate yesterday during our snow day.

We got about three inches of sleet and about an inch of snow on top of the sleet. With birds fighting over every feeder. our average high for this time of year is 61 degrees F. Last yesterday and last night we set record lows of around 11 degrees F. You Canadian folks can take this weather back up above the border.

Nice action shot at the feeder. It was -8 F. in Conway this morning with about 9 inches of snow. We have more on the way tomorrow. I agree this weather belongs well North of here. Great freeze of the action.

Many thanks, I got my shots yesterday from the comfort of our den looking through our patio French doors out into the back yard. It was hovering around 19 or so while this was going on with about 3.5 inches of mostly sleet with a little snow pile on top, they were predicting freezing rain.....we dodged a bullet. Got about 456 shots in a very short span of time most were keepers with the 55-300 PLM but many were virtual duplicates as I was shooting in medium drive mode with my K-3. Thanks for viewing!!

Fair amount of traffic and drama out there. And well captured. Like how the snow contributes to the atmosphere and sense of moment.

Cool shot, buddy - in more ways than one!

I missed this post owing to our own deep freeze here in Texas!
