I was very close to the bird, but I'm amazed by the detail which the HDDA 55-300 PLM can deliver.

Well spotted. I am surprised you could get that close.

So was I! I was just leaving a hide, and he was looking for a feed on a tree outside.

Another terrific capture! The 55-300 PLM can really deliver good results when you are in close range like this.

Great catch - had it moved, that you were able to spot it? It blends into its background so well.

Yes, the 55-300mm PLM can deliver amazing detail in the right circumstances.

Thanks! It doesn't have the resolution or reach of the DFA 150-450 but then it doesn't have the price tag either! It's a great lens except for the vignetting at 300mm. Sharpness and resolution is surprisingly good for a light and portable lens.

I probably wouldn't have noticed it him if he stayed still! I took a series of shots as he hopped all over the tree, but this one was the sharpest.

Great picture - I've heard these little guys but seeing one up close must have been a real treat.

Thanks! The Scrubwrens at Jerrabomberra Wetlands seem to be more accustomed to people that the ones I used to see in Queensland.
