Weathermen divide the year up here into the hottest 3 months {June - August}, the coldest 3 months {December- February}, and the separating months.

Apparently the Red-Winged Blackbirds migrate here - and this is the first one I've seen here since last year - today, 'right on schedule', although this feeder is supposedly for squirrels.

Red Wing Blackbirds are claimed by many to be the most abundant bird in North America. Not seen much in Urban areas. I don't see them at my feeders. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your comment.

The area where I live was swamp and forest at one time, before settlers moved in and turned it into a big cornfield with scattered urban areas.
We see a lot of blackbirds in the summer, but they may be attracted to the cornfields and just wander into the urban areas.
